This blog documents the experiences of the Fisher family in India during the Spring 2008 semester. The family was headquartered in Bangalore, where Tim spent his sabbatical leave (at the J. Nehru Center for Advanced Scientific Research), and they traveled to various other parts of India during their stay.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
During the heart of last night my brother and I awoke. We heard a strange noise. At first we assumed that it was a thunderstorm. Than he though we were being bombed by a diferent country. I said, "just go to sleep." He continued with his theory about being bombed. I finally fell asleep and this morning he told me that he went to a window and looked out and saw New Year's Fireworks.

Markie,
I saw fireworks in Chicago last night. I am so glad you were able to go back to sleep. Is it hard to be on India time or are you adjusted to it?
I like you blog entries alot.
Love You,
Grandma
Mark and Thomas,
I can't wait for Thomas and Michael to read about your experience. I'm sure it was a little frightening not knowing what was going on during the evening. I'm sure you were relieved to realize it was just fireworks. Happy New Year and have fun in school!:)
